Conjunctions

The Conjunction
Definition Conjunction is a word which joins two words, clause or sentences.
example: My brother can speak and write French.
In this give example word and is a conjunction.
List of useful conjunctions:-
  • And: I have a brother and a sister.
  • As well as: My mother as well as my sister went to market.
  • No less: He was no less guilty than his friend.
  • Not only.....but also: Not only reading but also writing is beneficial for students.
  • Or: Sit here or go out.
  • Neither.....nor: Neither Julia nor Jenny went to market.
  • Either......or: Either she or her mother will come.
  • Else: Walk fast else you will miss the bus.
  • But: She was poor but contented
  • Still: He is very rich still he plays with poor.
  • Whereas: My friend is hard working whereas her brother is lazy.
  • While: She earns $400 per month while her friend $500.
  • Therefore: He was ill, therefore he did not come yesterday.
  • So: She did not take her study seriously so she failed
  • When: My friend was not at home when I went there.
  • Till: You have to wait there till I come back.
  • Berore: I had taken shower before he visited my home.
  • Where: I know where you live.
  • Because: She helps everyone because she is very kind.
  • That: He was happy that I had stood first.
  • Lest: Walk carefully lest you slip.
  • As: Do as your friend tells you.
  • Than: He is more intelligent than his friend.
  • Although: Although he is poor, he helps everyone.
  • Though: Though it was raining, she came here.
  • Both....and: Both me and my brother will come.
  • No less than: He loves me no less than you.
